Im Zuge der vorübergehenden Aufhebung des Stiftes Stams während der bayerischen Verwaltung (1806–1814) gelangten über 300 Handschriften an die Lyzealbibliothek in Innsbruck, die heutige Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Tirol. Einzelne Handschriften zerstreuten sich über die Jahrhunderte in andere Institutionen. The foundation was accompanied by the establishment of a school, which in the late Middle Ages was characterized by close ties to the University of Vienna.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Today, the continuously growing library still reflects the intellectual environment of this scholarly centre as well as the rich exchange and permanent contact between the Dominicans and other religious communities.
