The Austrian Centre for Digital Humanities and Cultural Heritage (ACDH-CH) is an institute of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) that brings research in the humanities and cultural heritage disciplines together with methodological investigations into digital documentation, preservation, processing, analysis, and visualization of the digital humanities data.
As a national centre of excellence, ACDH-CH collaborates with various partners within and extern to the ÖAW to find solutions to challenges faced by digital humanities researchers. In its mission, ACDH-CH promotes the use of Open Access and Open Data policies and follows the considerations of the FAIR-data principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable).
As one of its central services, the institute provides stable and permanent long-term archiving and dissemination of digital humanities research data in the ARCHE repository. This provides researchers easy and sustainable access to their data and digitised cultural heritage resources from the holdings of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and other data-providing institutions throughout Austria.
Since 2017, ARCHE has held the CoreTrustSeal, a certificate for trustworthy digital repository systems and research data.
