FOUNDING LAB Fall Term Chapter 3: Machines, Robots & Tangibles

  • Description

      • The highlight of Chapter 3 of the FOUNDING LAB Fall Term. Drones serve as tools for artistic exploration, specifically in the Dancing Drone Challenge. Students explore choreography involving both mechanical and organic entities, emphasizing the relationship between humans and machines. Drones and humans work together to convey this connection, programmed to perform a specific choreography. In addition, environmental ambience is created through sound and light. The task is to embody the role of a drone, echoing an earlier thought experiment in which students imagined themselves as machines. Key questions shape the performance, reflecting on the unique capabilities of drones and envisioning their future use.
