Benediktinerstift Admont
Styria
In the oldest still existing monastery in Styria, the Admont Benedictines have dedicated themselves to pastoral care, education, and science since its founding in 1074. Admont Abbey sees itself as both a spiritual and cultural center in the region. It houses the world's largest monastery library and operates one of Austria’s most unique private museums, featuring collections in the fields of art and cultural history as well as natural history. The Admont Abbey Library and Archive preserve, and research knowledge collected over centuries in the form of manuscripts, printed books, and archival materials.
