Let's get to the point!

How do we talk about our world? And who defines the terms, meanings and relationships? With the increasing amount of data and the technological possibilities for linking it, power structures are also shifting – sometimes with massive consequences. Because those who collect, store and model data influence how knowledge is created and which perspectives and narratives become (in)visible.

In order to jointly examine the tension between language, power and data in digital cultural heritage, the Federal Ministry of Arts and Culture (BMWKMS), together with Kulturpool, the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG), Topothek and kärnten.museum, invites you to the Stakeholder Forum 2026 on 5-6 May 2026 in Klagenfurt.

How can museums, archives, libraries and actors such as Kulturpool fulfil their responsibilities? What infrastructure and conditions are necessary for opening up and networking collections?

And what is needed to promote the sustainable use, interdisciplinary research and responsible and innovative communication of cultural heritage data?
