The Diocesan Archives of Innsbruck serve as the administrative archives of the Diocese of Innsbruck and have preserved records since the diocese’s territory was separated from the Diocese of Brixen in 1919.
The collections include administrative documents from the bishops, various departments, and Caritas, as well as various estates and records from church associations. The archive is also responsible for managing the archives of the 291 parishes and pastoral units, which contain records dating back to the early 12th century. The parish records are still stored on-site but are being made available online on an ongoing basis.
