The Graz Museum is the city's cultural history museum and sees itself as an open forum for engaging with the past, present, and future. As part of a democratization process since 2023, the museum is strengthening participatory formats and developing into a place for social negotiation and a vibrant culture of discourse.
As a cultural history museum with a regional focus, the Graz Museum's collection is highly diverse. It currently comprises over 100,000 objects, catalogued in 16 collection groups: archaeology, archival materials, postcards, books, photography, graphic arts, paintings, militaria, furniture, musical scores, numismatics, pharmaceuticals, objects, plans, sculptures, and theatre.
