Monastery Vorau

The Augustinian Canons Regular of Vorau were founded in 1163. Since then, it has been a center of education, culture, and pastoral care in eastern Styria. It possesses cultural treasures from every century of its existence. Around 400 manuscripts from the Middle Ages have survived. The abbey's artistic furnishings date predominantly from the 18th century.
