Mariendom Linz
Upper Austria
St Mary's Cathedral Linz is the largest church in Austria and an important place of faith and spirituality. Furthermore, both its impressive architecture and its art treasures make the cathedral a cultural monument of supra-regional importance. These treasures include the unique stained-glass windows, the glass mosaics and altars in the chapel wreath and the cathedral treasury. St Mary's Cathedral also holds one of the most extensive archives of plans for sacred buildings. It contains original plans by cathedral architect Vincenz Statz from around 1866, the first designs of the stained-glass windows in the chapel wreath and correspondence from the time the cathedral was built.
Thanks to extensive digitization measures, it is now possible to make the sacral, liturgical, pastoral and (architectural) cultural dimensions of the St Mary's Cathedral accessible to interested parties in a new way. At digital information stations, visitors can encounter the valuable works of art and treasures that St Mary's Cathedral holds at eye level.
